What a freaking joke!!! Janky, backwoods restaurant!! - I went here with 12 of my family members yesterday, for my birthday and my aunt's birthday. Some of us came as far as Traverse City and Howell. The waitress was lazy, nearly all of us had empty glasses and had to beg for refills! My fiance asked her what was on the reuben and she obviously didn't know and was faking her way thru the answer. I asked her to replace the alfredo sauce with vodka sauce and she was very confused by this (although vodka sauce was clearly on the menu), and argued with me that vodka sauce IS the exact same thing as marinara!! I complained to the old lady manager who couldn't have cared less. They also refused to split the checks up for separate payment!!! Claimed they couldn't do it. But they were dam* sure they were able to put the 15 percent gratuity on there for the waitress who took absolutely no pride in her job!! This was my fault because i actually went to this restaurant a few months ago with my friend who raved about it and we had a pretty bad experience there then also. I waited 15 minutes for a fork, and my friend was at the register waiting around to get the bill because the waiter was taking for ever. My friend had set his money down on the counter, and when the waiter finally came up, he picked his money up and moved toward the waiter. A young hoochie-mama hostess then exclaimed very loudly to her coworker, "That OLD MAN just RAN OFF with those two twenties that were here!!!" my friend yelled back at her, "uh HELLO!!! it's MY money!!". she simply said "oh" and didn't even offer an apology. I will never go back to this cesspool of sh** and degradation to the customer!! I hope they go out of business. what a hellhole.

We used to eat here often. Tonight was horrible. Chicken skewer was like leather. Feed it to the dog. Won't go back anytime soon. Hopefully I don't get sick from what I ate.

I recently reserved their banquet room for my grandmother's 80th birthday and they exceeded my expectations. The staff made us feel so welcome. We were able to come in as early as we wanted to decorate. There was no time limit imposed. We stayed as long as we wanted. The food was delicious and plentiful (served family style) and everything was fresh. The ribs were tender and the sauce was to die for. The chicken was cooked to perfection. No complaints from any of my guest/family, who can be quite picky when it comes to fried chicken. They call it broasted chicken there. The pasta was good. The salad had a dressing on it that was one of a kind. We were able to bring in our extension cord, laptop, projector, etc to do a slideshow. We were allowed to play soft music. The price was super reasonable. Definitely a great place for family gatherings and private events.

Just to update, I spoke to the "owner" who offered to let me come in a pick up my chicken strips that I had already paid for. My how nice is that? But the she rescinded the offer, the offer to actually give me the food that I had paid for. She is verbally abusive and she does not tell the truth. They owe me 20 dollars for the food I did not receive and refuse to refund my money or make it right. She even yelled at me for leaving a bad review. She also tried to tell me how I should have handled the situation that was created by her company. The food used to be very good and the place was busy. At 7;30 on a Sat. night, there were very few people there. Very poor attitude and terrible service. I will be taking my business elsewhere and so will many others. Sad that a teenager is managing on a Saturday night. Treating customers in the manner in which we were treated is not the way to run a business, nor is arguing with the customer. Unbelievably rude and very disrespectful.

Wait Staff Is unattentive. Ribs were average. Steaks on the Menu but no Mashed or Baked Potato. Have had Much Better. Yrs ago I would of given them 4 stars but the Place Has Changed. Wife and I are stuck on the roundhouse BBQ in Trenton. Yes It's a drive for us But worth it. Our Alternative is Alexander the Great Ribs for 2 20.00 and you can get a coupon in Thursdays paper magazine for 16.95. But I would avoid the Golden Feather Nothing Golden about it

Always a GREAT meal, sometimes service leaves a little to be desired, but the food makes up for it. Best ribs and chicken strips anywhere.

Overall, I'm a fan of the Golden Feather. Be prepared to be surrounded by old people, though. Both the clientele and the people who work there are generally all senior citizens. Not that that's a problem, but it does explain why the service is a little slower than, say, Applebee's, and also why it is SO quiet in there. The menu is VERY small, and it's on the expensive side for a family restaurant. However, the portions are GIGANTIC, and everything that I have had was absolutely spectacular. Every meal I've had there has fed me twice- once at the restaurant, and again as a leftover meal the next day. I've had the ribs and the shrimp dinners, and both were outstanding. Every meal comes with two huge slices of (delicious) garlic bread, soup salad or cole slaw, and potatoes. Their clam chowder is pretty good, their chicken noodle soup is amazing, and the salad is great too. I'm not a huge fan of their cole slaw or fries. The barbecue sauce is fantastic, which is what makes their ribs so great, and the shrimp are practically the size of my fist!

I have been going to Golden Feather for over 20 years. I went there last night and received the worst service. I still can't believe the waitress shitty attitude and work ethic. Because of her, I will never eat there again. I run a bar and restaurant and she would have been fired on the spot if she was my employee. I have also worked as a cook and as a bartender for 18 years, so I understand what it takes in the service industry. This horrible disgrace of a waitress needs to find a new profession. She doesn't understand what customers service is about. I hope your owner understand you are the only reason they have lost a long time patron. I will never again eat there.

I have been going to this place for a number of years and there must have been a change in management because the quality has diminished. The quality of food is still great, I mean the portions are ridiculous and fills me up. I usually get, and stick with the 4pc broasted chicken dinner w/ fries. The bread is so good. I used to like the coleslaw but it has the 'chicken' flavor that isn't so appetizing so I leave that alone. What has changed is the customer service. It is sooo slow. And like another reviewer said, the place isn't too busy where there is a cause for it. It's crazy how slow it is. Sunday afternoons seem to be the busiest time since most church folk go there. I have learned to call ahead for pick up. I think a number of people have decided this is the best option as well.

This is a great local place that has been around forever. We love their ribs and their chicken strips. They are better than any other ribs we have tried anywhere!. How would you like to not worry about waiting in line whenever you want to eat? This is what it's like there. Great food, great value, and a very spacious place that is decorated nicely and very clean. Friendly staff is a rarity these days but not here, it's the norm. What more could you ask?

Um...Been there a few times...The last time was a awful experience..Waitress told my wife she couldn't substitute fries for any else unless she paid for it.. slow service..food is good but not worth it and there are plenty of other (better options) out there ! NEVER AGAIN

The best chicken fingers in town. Great sides, and other main courses. Everything has always been perfect in my experience, great bbq sauce as well. Love it.

You know what they say--reviews are usually only bad and great experiences, not much in between. I can safely say that is why Golden Feather has such a high rating--all the townie/older folks (the majority of the clientele there) write their good reviews, and people believing them visit the restaurant and write the bad ones. We stopped at this place after discovering various other restaurants had closed on Ford Road (oh, Garden City...). The ambiance is that of a banquet hall. It's almost opulent in the place. With high expectations, we were seated... and waited roughly 10-15 minutes for a server to even acknowledge us (and it WASN'T a busy night). Menu was limited, but we usually take that to mean, "What they do, they do well." Well, after getting cafeteria style meat and vegetables that were HIGHLY overpriced, we had to alter that mentality. None of the food was memorable save for it being "bordering on bad" and incredibly expensive. I don't want to seem that "snooty reviewer," but people of Garden City tend to review restaurants in their city as very high based on that very same "cafeteria style" food (like the Chinese restaurant down the road...). If you like frozen packaged chopped up peas and carrots, and highly processed/frozen (not fresh) meat in indistinguishable "brown sauce," all for probably $20 more than it would cost at a Hospital cafeteria (and that's saying something)... then this place is for you!

Went on Sunday ordered steak and ribs. The steak and ribs were huge for $18. Ribs and steak were good, also came with potatoe and soup.
